Development of distance individual learning system via the Internet: design of RAPSODY-II

摘要

Recently, with the wide spread of the Internet and the advanced information technology on the WWW a lot of the teaching/learning supporting systems have been developed using the Internet and WWW We have been developed the distance self-learning system: RAPSODY based on WWW. The purpose of this study is to extend RAPSODY in consideration of the problems pointed out through evaluation of RAPSODY and based on the trend about international standardization for the distance learning system. RAPSODY-II realizes the function to select the materials according to the learner's conditions, needs, and his/her learner's history, and the function to present his/her learner's history effectively to the learners. In this paper, we describe design concept and architecture of RAPSODY.
