Architectural support for the advanced virtual enterprise

Requirements for enterprise integration infrastructure have matured in the past decade, and now form the core of an ambitious vision of fluid enterprises. We describe the new agenda; the key technical challenges; and the concurrent required innovations in business practice. The leading technical approaches for this agenda are briefly reviewed and some observations on relevant market forces are made.
