"Development of the 100 kW Automotive Ceramic Gas Turbine (CGT)" was a seven-year program since fiscal 1990. This program was conducted by Petroleum Energy Center (PEC) with the support of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.To prove the CGT performance, engine performance evaluation test, where all the components were assembled in the engine housing, at the turbine inlet gas temperature of 1350℃ was carried out successfully. The maximum output power of 92.3 kW (goal:100 kW) and the maximum thermal efficiency of 35.6% (goal : 40%) were confirmed. We evaluated not only its overall performance but also measured temperatures, pressures and other data at the each component or component interface and evaluated the performance ofeach component under the actual engine conditions. And we analyzed the matters to be solved for the performance and reliability goals.
