Evaluation of soil pollution by heavy metals and arsenic in Chelyabinsk oblast.

Routine and new methods for evaluation of soil pollution are examined using the soils of some areas in the chernozemic zone of Chelyabinsk oblast, Russia, as an example. It is shown that not all the methods give satisfactory evaluation of pollutionlevels.
