Comparing Parameters between Heidetberg Retinal Tomography 2 and 3 in an Asian population

Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in the global and sectorial parameters from HRT 2 and 3 in a community-based Asian population in Singapore. Methods: In this cross-sectional study subjects were included as part of the Singapore Malay Eye Study (SiMES). Data were then analyzed with version 2.02 HRT software. The same batch of HRT images, with unaltered contour drawings, were then exported and re-analyzed with the version 3,0 software. The global and sectorial parameters from HRT-2 and 3 were compared for clinical and statistical significance. Seven optic nerve head (ONH) and 1 Retinal Nerve Fibre Layer (RNFL) parameters were used for analysis. Results: A total of 5846 eyes (mean age 60.6, 45% male) were included for analysis. For ONH measurements, there were significant differences between HRT-2 and 3 in 7 out of 8 parameters.
