トリブタン製剤服用患者の調剤薬局への再来局に関する調査研究

Migraine is a common disease which impairs the daily QOL (quality of life) of patients. Triptans are a new class of compound developed for the treatment of migraine, and they are now commonly prescribed to migraine patients. The rate of return visits to the pharmacy by migraine patients is, however, very low. The objective of the present study was to investigate return visits by migraine patients to the pharmacy. Data on migraine patients were extracted from their medical records, and those who were dispensed triptans and had made return visits to our pharmacy once and more than once were also analyzed. The results were as follows.The total number of migraine patients dispensed triptans according to their prescriptions was 133. Higher numbers of female patients were observed. In addition, migraine patients aged between 20 and 50 made up almost 60% of the total number.The rate of return visits to our pharmacy more than once was very low (36.1%).Regarding the rates of return visits among the 5 kinds of triptan given to patients, the rank order was naratriptan > eletriptan > sumatriptan>=rizatriptan > zolmitriptan. Thus, we conclude that pharmacists should contribute to cure migraine through medication counseling.
