摘要

This paper presents a low-cost flexible MIMO channel sounder with the maximum bandwidth of 25MHz operating at various frequency bands between 400 MHz and 4400 MHz developed by using GNU radio/USRP that employs a simple time division multiplexing (TDM) scheme. This paper describes the principle of the channel sounding technique, data processing, and presents the hardware setup as a MIMO channel sounder in detail. By computer simulation, this paper also clarifies the influence of the most critical transceiver imperfections such as phase noise (PN) and I/Q imbalance (IQI) on channel estimation accuracy. The operation is demonstrated and validated by a simple DUT test and MISO test by fading simulator.
