What are required of next generation power systems for automobiles? -background for introduction of hybrid vehicles-

In the 21st century, demand for reducing environmental load by automobiles will steadily increase. Consequently, more environment friendly and energy efficient power systems for next generation vehicles will be required. Urging technical developments by introducing incentives on a national basis could be an important issue. This report reviews the government policies for reducing the environmental load and the background for introduction of hybrid vehicles.
