摘要

In this study simple circuits and network for detection of approaching object ate proposed based on vision systems of insects. The locusts detect the approaching object by sensing the increase of the size and the expansion velocity of the projected image on the retina just before collision. Information processing in the brain of the insects is simple. Therefore, circuits based on vision systems of insects are expected to become relatively simple. We constructed a network out of the simple circuits and evaluated its performances using SPICE. It could detect the approaching velocity, object size and the orientation of the approach. The application of the proposed network is expected to realize the detection of three-dimensional motion.
