The state of the ship? the vessel is sound

During the past year, JVIR has continued to grow by every measure: journal submissions upsurged by>30%, circulation climbed, quality of papers has risen, breadth of topics spread, numbers of prospective studies swelled, variety of specialties authoring multiplied, edifying commentaries increased ... and so has JVIR's impact factor. JVIR's 5-year impact factor is the highest in the specialty. JVIR sustains twice the number of 5-year overall citations of other subspecialty journals in our field. The number of associate editors has also grown, with the 2012 additions of Drs. Abi-Jaoudeh, Bilbao, Clark, Midia, and Silberzweig. Perhaps the only two things that have not grown are supposed to stay small: our industry-leading fastest time to full print (and, of course, e-pub) of accepted articles and our average time to first decision for new manuscripts.
