PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum ship route calculation system for vessels which can calculate an optimum ship route for all routes over the global ocean including routes with canals and/or straits on the routes like a route between the Persian Gulf and Japan via the Straits of Malacca, a route between Japan and Australia, a route between Singapore and the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal, and a route between Japan and the east coast of North America via the Panama Canal, and to provide an operation supporting system for vessels, an optimum ship route calculation method for vessels, and an operation supporting method for vessels,.SOLUTION: The optimum ship route calculation system 30 for vessels adopts an isochrone method as a method to determine an optimum ship route and comprises way point designation means 31, which can optionally designate way points WP on a ship route to be set, and isochrone changing means 32, which changes search lengths, search intervals, and search regions used in the isochrone method according to distances between way points WP.
