摘要

Migration pattern of Parascaris equorum larvae was studied in albino- mice and guinea-pigs after oral infection to each animal with 10~3 infective embryonated eggs of the parasite. The larvae migrated from the intestines to the lungs via liver and caused tissue damage to these organs. The damage to these organs was moderate and depicted by haemorrhages and inflammatory reactions. The liver showed white spots/streaks on the surface. Maximum migration of larvae was on days 5 and 10 in the liver and lungs, respectively in these animals. These laboratory animals therefore, could be used as model for evaluation of drugs for treatment and control strategies to arrest further migration and development of P. equorum in equities.
