The package comprises a body (2) having a bottom (3) to which are connected sides (4 to 7) each provided with at least one opening (8 to 13) obturated by a grid, and a lid in order to close the body after the animals have been placed inside it through the top. In order to hold the grid obturating the openings, the package comprises, for each grid element (18), surfaces surrounding its edge over at least a portion, such as the surfaces of a groove into which the grid element is inserted.
