摘要

This paper presents a boundary element formulation for a smooth rigid pin-loaded finite isotropic plate. This study is meant for a quantitative evaluation of the influence of the clearance in members transmitting load through pinned connections.Computational results on the normal stress distribution in the plate have been obtained corresponding to different values of pin displacements. The technique utilises an updating procedure in order to model the continuously changing boundary conditions.This paper also discusses that the clearance between the hole and the pin which has a significant influence up on the contact stress.
