Control of the hapticity of pyridine-2-thiolate ligands in thenium(V) oxo complexes

Treatment of [ReO{K~3-B(pz)_4(OMe)_2] 1 with pyridine-2-thiol ligands led to [ReO{K~2-B(Pz)_4}(K~2-Spy)(OMe)](Spy=2-SC_5H_4N 2 or 2-SC_5H_3NSiMe_3-3 3) or [ReO{K~3-B(Pz)_4}(K~1-2-SC_5H_4N)_2] 4, depending on the reaction conditions. Complexes 2 and 3 reacted with trimethylsilyl choride yielding [ReO{K~3-B(pz)_4}(K~1-2-SC_5H_4N)Cl].HCl 6 and [ReO{K~3-B(pz)_4}Cl_2], respectively. The characterization of the new compounds involves IR and ~1H NMR spectroscopies, and X-ray diffraction analysis for 3,4 and 6.
