摘要

A Nd3+: LaBO3 crystal with dimensions phi 20 x 15 mm(3) has been grown by the Czochralski method from a flux of Li3BO3. The hardness of the Nd3+: LaBO3 crystal is 802.6 VDH or 6.5 on the scale of Mohs. The absorption and emission spectra of Nd3+: LaBO3 have been investigated. The absorption cross-section is 2.16 x 10(-2)0 cm(2) at 807 nm and the emission cross section is 6.78 x 10(-19) cm(2) at 1057 nm. The fluorescence lifetime tau(f) of Nd3+: LaBO3 crystals with different Nd3+ concentration was determined.
