Nd3+:(Ba0.32Sr0.68)(5)Nb4O15 crystal was grown by Czochralski method for the first time. The refractive indexes were measured. The polarized absorption and emission spectra were investigated at room temperature. The absorption cross-section and emission cross-section were presented. Based on Judd-Ofelt theory, the intensity parameters Q(t=2, 4, 6), radiative transition rates A, radiative lifetime tau(r) and fluorescent branching ratio beta have been obtained. The results show that Nd3+:(Ba0.32Sr0.68)(5)Nb(4)O(15 )is crystal may be regarded as a potential solid-state laser gain medium material. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
