Knock, Knock, Knock, "May I come in?" requests the Auguste clown at the rehabilitation hospital patient's door.An "Auguste clown" differs from the "white face clown" and the "tramp clown" in the manner that makeup is applied to their face. The white face clown covers the complete face with white grease paint and then accents the eyebrows, nose, and mouth in combinations of black and red makeup. The tramp clown does not have a standard manner for applying makeup and is at liberty to use their own creative inspiration. In contrast, the Auguste clown's face begins with a pink or red base; oversized features are subsequently outlined in red or black over selected white areas. The patient looks up from his book to see the smiling face of Cobo who is one of many caring clowns that occasionally visit the rehabilitation hospital. The rehabilitation hospital is only one of the facilities that Cobo and her friends visit. They also go to many other hospitals, nursing homes, head start programs, and residences of patients with Alzheimer disease.
