摘要

The results are presented for numerical investigation carried out by the finite-element method into the influence exerted by the shape of cutting wedge on the propagation of crack cutting off the chip element. It is shown that an increase in angle of the cutting wedge favors the primary-crack penetration into deep, as well as impedes the material motion on the rake face and the chip formation.
