摘要

Hydroxyapatite (HA), due to its chemical stability and osteoconductivity, has been deposited on metallic substrate for load-bearing implant applications [1-5]. The most promising metallic system for implant application has to be Ti and its alloys because of their biocompatibility and mechanical properties [6]. Important parameters in the long-term behavior of implants coated with HA are the integrity of the metal/coating interface and a low rate dissolution of the HA coating. To improve the bond strength and other properties, many well-developed thin-film techniques have been explored to develop HA and other calcium phosphates coatings [3-5], in addition to the frequently used plasma spray technique of thick coatings [1, 2].
