Colombia could become an important met coke exporter in the future

Colombian met coke producers exported 850,100 tonnes of product during the first eight months of this year, according to Juan Manuel Sanchez with C.I. Carbocoque S.A. Sanchez spoke at the Met Coke World Summit in Philadelphia. C.I. Carbocoque operates 21 underground mines in Colombia, which have 25 million tonnes of proven met coal reserves. The company has four industrial centers and a washing plant. Presently, C.I. Carbocoque produces 350,000 tonnes/year of met coke.
