摘要

Equations for calculation of the time-dependent density of height asperity distribution and the pressure distribution over microcontact areas during run-in were derived. It was shown that the asperities are smoothed out and the pressure over microcontact areas is leveled off. The rate of these processes is high at the initial stage and becomes negligible after a certain elapse of time. This time is proposed as the run-in time for a friction pair. The size distribution of the wear particles was calculated. A comparison of our theoretical results with data obtained by different authors shows that the calculations satisfactorily describe the variance distribution of wear particles of different materials.
