Knowledge is a resource that is valuable to anorganisation's ability to innovate and compete. It exists withinthe individual employees, and also in a composite sense withinthe organisation. Therefore, it is important that organisationsfind a way to tap into this knowledge and effectively manageknowledge processes in order to preserve and expand its corecompetencies to maintain a sustainable competitive advan-tage. The purpose of this study is to examine the impactof human resource systems (HR planning System, HR Train-ing System, HR Reward System, HR recruitment System) onthe successful implementation of knowledge management pro-cesses (acquisition, application, sharing). Respondents con-sist of top/senior managers, human resource managers, andheads of departments in the Jordanian mobile telecommuni-cation companies. A questionnaire survey was developed tocollect data from respondents, a sample of 150 were selectedaccording to a simple random sampling technique. Differentstatistical tools were used to test study hypotheses. The studyfindings shows that overall human resource systems have a sig-nificant impact on knowledge management processes. Basedon the findings, the study suggest future research which canseek an enhanced understanding of the relationship of HRSwith knowledge management processes in other sectors andother countries as well, since cultural differences exist amongorganisations, which influence employee perceptions regardingknowledge management processes. This study has implicationsfor HR managers or decision-makers to create an organisa-tional environment that encourages employee empowerment,integration and socialisation by eliminating all forms of bar-riers and red tapes, which can allow people to participate fornew opportunities and foster a positive social interaction cul-ture before introducing knowledge management initiatives.
