Background: It is estimated that one billion adults worldwideare overweight, of whom, 300 million are obese (WHO,2003); therefore, weight management treatment is undeniably important. However, the best approach and structure has not been specified in evidenced-based guidelines because research on the most efficacious intervention is limited and conflicting (Renjilian et al., 2001). This study aimed to investigate patients' preferences for weight management treatment and the factors which influence them, to aid development and organisation of weight management services.
