Hypertrophic osteoarthropathy seen with NaF18 PET/CT bone imaging.

Bone scintigraphy with technetium-labeled agents is effective in demonstrating hypertrophic osteoarthropathy. The findings have been described as the "tram-line" or "double-stripe" sign. NaF18 PET/CT scan provides improved image quality compared with technetium scintigraphy. In this study, a 52-year-old woman with lung cancer and bone pain had a NaF18 PET/CT examination that clearly demonstrated the detailed findings of hypertrophic osteoarthropathy.
