Is a back to basics approach to medication error reduction enough?

In the research article entitled "A 'Back to Basics' Approach to Reduce ED Medication Errors," I applaud the authors for focusing on medication safety and recognizing that improved practitioner knowledge of safety does not reliably translate into safer practice. However, I was surprised to see the researchers used education as their primary strategy for improving medication safety in the emergency department.
