PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous detection as a proximate state even in the case where a determination threshold value of a proximity sensor is not appropriate because of various reasons.SOLUTION: An erroneous detection prevention device is provided for preventing erroneous detection of proximity/non-proximity of a proximity detection device which determines whether or not an object is proximate to a proximity sensor by comparing a value of a signal outputted by the proximity sensor with a threshold value. The erroneous detection prevention device acquires, as a reference value, a value of a signal which is outputted from the proximity sensor when it can be determined that the object and the proximity sensor are not proximate. In the case where the threshold value takes such a value that it is determined that the object and the proximity sensor are proximate when the reference value is compared with the threshold value, as a new threshold value, a value is set which is determined based on a value of a signal which is outputted from the proximity sensor when it can be determined that the object and the proximity sensor are proximate.
