A 78-year-old man who had previous cataract surgery with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in both eyes now has monocular diplopia and glare in the right eye, especially under low-light conditions. His chronic visual complaints prompted the referring physician to perform a neodymiunrYAG (Nd:YAG) laser treatment; however, the patient's symptoms became worse after the treatment and are now so disturbing that he seeks a surgical remedy.
