CONTROLLED BREEDING OF COMMON CARP (CYPRINUS CARPIO) IN EAST SIANG DISTRICT ARUNACHAL PRADESH

Investigations were carried out to study the performance of breeding in common carp during different w/eeks of the breeding season. Controlled breeding using hapa was conducted during 2012 and 2013 in different villages of East Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh near district head quarters Pasighat (28"04' N, 95’22' E and 152 m altitude). The results revealed that better fertilization in the controlled breeding treatments of the common carp was recorded upto 80 % in 2"*' week of February 2012 and 82%in 3"'^ week of February 2103, respectively. Hatching rate was found to be non significant which ranged between 55% to 69% in the year 2012 and that between 52% to 68% In the year 2013.
