Though the cover design and even the title of this book may imply it is a basic text for beginning designers, it is not. Design for Communication: Conceptual Graphic Design Basics goes well beyond the basics. No more than three pages at the beginningof each chapter are devoted to design basics, such as shape, texture, space, balance, rhythm, typography, visual hierarchy, and grid. These introductory explanations serve as a foundation for detailing the intricacies of employing conceptual design principles through visual examples.
