摘要

Cooling and drying experiments were conducted in small bins on wheat (Triticum aestivum), barley (Hordeum vulgare) and peas (Pisum sativum). Four model concepts are described which consider the different ways in which water leaves the grain. The temperature front that occurs at the beginning of the drying process is modelled. Optimum values for heat and mass transfer were determined from experimental data and the best adjusted parameters were then used to compute the drying front. The 4 models givesimilar results and it was found that model predictions of the drying front were relatively accurate.
