摘要

Chicago-Targeted therapies for the treatment of certain cancers garnered keen interest during the American Society of Clinical Oncology's (ASCO's) annual meeting here in June.Encouraging results from some studies suggest that researchers are making progress in understanding and creating targeted therapies that block the growth and spread of cancer by interfering with specific molecules involved in tumor growth and progression. However, reports that some once-promising candidates failed to demonstrate effectiveness in phase 3 trials reminded researchers once again that many targeted drugs that seemed promising in early studies may never reach the clinic.
