To the Editor: Better understanding of the effects of risk-reducing surgery on cancer risks and mortality is extremely relevant for geneticists and oncologists aiming at optimized counseling of BRCA mutation carriers. Dr Dom-chek and colleagues provided clinical data regarding risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) in a large cohort of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers, enabling investigation in women with and without a history of breast can-cer separately. However, there are some issues that require consideration.
