TB Drug Research Picks Up the Pace

Several drug candidates are already in clinical trials: Lupin Limited's (Mum-bai, India) pyrrole LL-3858; moxifloxa-cin and gatifloxacin, which have already been approved for other indications; and a diarylquinoline called R207910, which was discovered by a Beerse, Belgium team of scientists at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research and Development's Division of Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V. and is now under development as TMC207 at Tibotec Pharmaceuticals Limited (Mechelen, Belgium).
