Yukio Sato, advisor to and former executive director of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), addressed more than 150 representatives from the science, engineering, technology, and educational sectors at a U.S. Congressional briefing on science and technology policy in Japan. The briefing was hosted by the United Engineering Foundation, in collaboration with the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), of which TMS is a member society, and other engineering societies, on July 12 for the Congressional R&D Caucus. The caucus comprises public interest and private sector organizations dedicated to informing Congress and the public on important R&D issues affecting the United States.
