A strong rebound in US jet fuel demand at the height of the summer travel season offset weakness in Mexico and Canada, pulling North American usage up by 3.7% in August. Especially strong liftings on the US Gulf Coast and a 5% gain in the large West Coast market made up for weakness on the East Coast of the US, leading to a 4.6% rise for the country as a whole. Canadian demand fell by 3.8% while consumption in Mexico fell by 6%.
