EU-funded researchers have made the world’s first “solar” jet fuel from just water and carbon dioxide. Only a glassful of solar-jet has been made so far, in laboratory conditions using simulated sunlight, but the project has demonstrated for the first time the entire production chain for renewable kerosene using concentrated light as a high-temperature energy source.
