摘要

A system that allows in-situ measurements of 3-D surface topography in the same location on a roll sliding surface, while measuring the coefficient of friction between a steel sheet and a roll without removing the roll type test specimen, was developed for steel sheet and roll type sliding friction and wear tests. The developed system enabled the performance of in-situ measurements of 3-D topography of the roll sliding surface at a high speed with a sampling frequency of 125 Hz and showed a high measurement accuracy of 20 nm. When performing sliding friction and wear tests of stainless steel sheets and rolls made of carbon steel whose surfaces were roughened, the system was quite effective in the clarification of the effect of the roll surface topography on wear and friction between steel sheet and the roll.
