Ceria is a promising highly active inorganic antioxidant due to its large oxygen nonstoichiometry, which sharply increases in nanocrystalline ceria [ 1-4]. It has been found that nanodispersed ceria protects cells and microorganisms from oxidative stress [5], increases cell viability (both in vitro and in macroorganisms) and microorganism [6-8], and can be used for treatment of cancer tumors [9]. And finally, there has been reported that CeO2 can increase the lifetime of macro-organisms, for example, of fruit-fly Drosophila mela-nogaster [10].
