Cloaking of Material Objects by Controlling the Impedance Boundary Condition for Maxwell's Equations

摘要

In recent years, great attention has been given to development of methods for masking material objects, which prevent their discovery by means of electromagnetic or acoustic location. In solving this problem, a large number of studies have been involved, among them, we can indicate, e.g., [1–4]. From the mathematical standpoint, solving this problem is reduced to finding unknown coefficients for Helmholtz equations or Maxwell's equations with variable coefficients. This is attained by solving the corresponding inverse problems. However, it turns out to be rather difficult to realize these solutions in practice even in the case when composite materials are used (see review [4] for details).
