A 54-year old male felt a strange sensation aftereating a chicken dinner. He had the impression that“food and drinks did not reach the stomach anymore” and presented at the emergency department1 week later. Computed tomography (Fig. 1) of thethorax revealed pleural empyema and an esophagealmediastinalfistula with a bony structure inside thefistula.
