Vegetable Production and Consumption in Korea

Korea is a peninsular country located between China and Japan. Therefore, the culture of Korea has been influenced much by China until the latter part of the 19th century and then by Japan for several decades until its liberation from 36-years of Japanese rule from 1910 until 1945. Unfortunately, however, Korea was divided into two countries, South and North immediately after liberation. The Korean Peninsula, located between 33° and 43° North latitude and 124° and 131° East longitude, is roughly1020 km long and 175 km wide at its narrowest point. South Korea's 99,500 km~2 is popu-lated by 48.2 million people.
