Russia is coming to grips with the new competitive landscape of the shale gas revolution and by all appearances moving rapidly to execute a bold strategy around LNG. In this issue, we learn that Gazprom aims to control 15 percent of the global supply of LNG. CEO Aleksey Miller, speaking at the company's annual shareholder meeting, said Gazprom plans to launch a plant capable of exporting 15 million tonnes of LNG at Vladivostok and another in the Leningrad Region (St Petersburg) with a capacity of 10 MTPA by 2018.
