What is indicated is a soot-filter plug, in which the filter-material covering on a perforated carrier tube consists of a hose made of ceramic fibres, whilst the hose can be knitted or braided. The soot-filter arrangement formed therefrom has, in a housing, two identical holding plates, each with a group of soot-filter plugs, so that a series connection is obtained, whilst a further middle holding plate can be arranged for the prevention of vibration. The advantage is, inter alia, a simple production and better suitability for regeneration. A metal grid is provided between the filter hose and carrier tube, also as an outer termination of the filter hose.
