Russia to send more gas, LNG to Japan

Russia's Gazprom is mulling the construction of a gas pipeline to Japan to boost supply, Platts reported May 4. "The parties discussed opportunities for a project to supply pipeline gas from Russia to Japan," a Gazprom statement said. It said the energy giant is also considering increasing "exports of Russian gas to Japan by expanding LNG production at Sakhalin as well as implementation of the project to construct an LNG plant in Vladivostok."
