In an effort to secure alternative sources of energy to replace lost nuclear power, France's Total will sell their Colombian oil production and pipeline unit, Tempa BV, to China's Sinochem Corp., LNGChina.org reported. Tepma holds a working interest in the Cusiana field in Co-lombia, estimated to hold as much as 3.1-trillion cubic feet, and is part owner of the OAM and ODC pipelines. Last year, it agreed to purchase a 10 percent stake in five offshore oil blocks in Brazil's Espirito Santo basin from London-based Perenco SA and in 2010 it purchased a 40-percent interest in Brazil's Peregrino oilfield from Norway's Statoil for just over US$3 billion.
