Alaska decision may boost export option

Alaska may decide as early as this week to give TransCanada Corp. permission to pursue the construction of a pipeline to feed an LNG export plant, The News Tribune reported April 4. TransCanada has requested permission to shift its attention from a natural-gas pipe that would send gas from Alaska's North Slope to the Lower 48 to one that would facilitate overseas exports.
