During scalp surgeries, one often faces the problem of inadequate visualization on account of hair that interferes with the surgical site. In dermatology, this is especially true for scalp biopsies, excision of tumors, hair transplantation, etc. To provide better exposure of the donor site in hair transplantation, some surgeons prefer to tape the hair superior to (above) the donor site or to use sterile Kling gauze to improve visualization. However, taping causes a problem of adherence to the hair and use of the gauze is slightly cumbersome.
