The gas phase ion-molecule reaction of Ar+ ions with propene have been studied in a mixture of 1% C3H6 + 99% Ar in the pressure range 1.33-39.99 Pa. The measurements were performed using a quadrupole mass spectrometer with a high-pressure ion source. The fractional abundance (relative intensity of the ion currents) for the major ions: C2H3+,, C3H3+, C3H5+, C3H7+, C4H5+, C4H7+ and argon ions have been determined as a function of gas pressure in the ion source and against repeller electrode potential.
