Factors influencing the knowledge level of farmers on low cost technologies in paddy

Rice is a staple food for more than 75 per cent of the people in Asia and India Estimates by Planning Commission and other agencies indicated, that India has to produce atleast 225 million tonnes of food grains to feed one billion people by 2000 A.D. After 1996, a new era had begun in indian agriculture with significant advance in technology by way of cost reduction or use of non-monetary inputs called as Low Cost Technology (LCT).
